Win a £50 bar tab with In A Pub

At the end of February I was lucky to win a £50 bar tab with In A Pub. Amazingly the competition is running 5 days a week until March 31st. So make sure to click the image above and enter yourself!

I used my bar tab yesterday at Salt House Tapas. I chose Salt House because, as well as having a bar I could also spend the tab on food. Although I had to leave early due to a miscommunication and starting the evening late plus #babysitterprobs. I'll definitely be returning to Salt House thanks to the welcoming service, atmosphere and most importantly fabulous food!

Weleda Calendula Face Cream For Babies Review

I haven't always used face cream on my daughter but since using the Calendula face cream I can see how it is quite a necessity. Especially in the colder months I really make sure to put on that little bit more. Currently I am applying this on my daughter after bathing and when redness flares up on her face due to teething. The cream has a very subtle fragrance and a light but moisturizing consistency.
My daughter loves when I apply this cream on her face and often says "aww baba" or attempts to eat it (Which I swiftly avoid by rubbing it in quickly) Due to her reaction I can only assume it is soothing and it does always calm down the redness on her face!
The Weleda Calendula Face Cream is currently retailing at £7.95 which may seem a little pricey but considering it can used for the hands, body and also on yourself (If you have sensitive skin) I think it is a good deal for a good quality product.
My only complaint would be the product design, I really dislike the crinkled look once you have squeezed some out. It is really hard to get it back in shape, trust me I have tried. As they say though "It's whats on the inside that counts!"

The cream is 100% natural and contains 96% organic ingredients.

Mia's Favourite iPad Games and Apps

I think it is safe to say my iPad now belongs to Mia! She totally loves passing time in the afternoon playing on my her iPad. So in this post I will be sharing her top 5 favourite games to play and my opinions on them. I should note that I'm not a biggest fan of her playing on the iPad because of the amount of in app purchases on the kids games. Which compel me to spend a fair bit on the apps as she gets frustrated otherwise!

Peekaboo Kids (By The Barn Of Kinder Kids)

The aim of the game is in the title on this one, it is quite simple for my daughter to use. The main menu provides an intro song with a big button to continue. Which takes you to the menu in the second picture. This game is free to download but only comes with 2 games unlocked, my daughter enjoyed the first one so much, that I did indeed unlock the rest for her! How could I not? :-)

Basically the barn/bushes/stage etc shake until your child touches it and then reveals what is hiding, this goes on a few turns and then finishes with an outro song and dance. I'd say this app is fun and educational for my daughter as each time it reveals whatever is hiding the app says its name and shows the noise it does too! There is also a "Guess the Item" game which is included free but this one is a little too advanced for my daughter and she doesn't quite get it yet.

Nursery Rhymes (By Internet Design Zones)

This app is very interactive for babies and toddlers. All the way through every song there is fun animations for them to click on whilst enjoying the song too. My daughter often dances along to the music. She gets so excited to see the moon yawn and stretch on "twinkle twinkle little star" and often imitates which provides her with great acting skills I assure you! :-D This app comes with 3 songs free, then you need to pay for the rest.  I have bought 2 additonal songs and for now she has been content with the selection.

Talking Tom (By Out Fit 7 LTD)

Talking Tom is by far my daughters favourite app, she finds this one absolutely hilarious and has great fun repeatedly greeting him "Hellooo!" while he repeats. Mummy on the other hand is not so much, as Mia is constantly clicking the ads but I just close them for her rather than paying for the privilege to not have them. I may change my mind on this at some point but for now I am standing my ground :) I do find it so adorable when she plays this though, I have actually recorded her on it and showed all of the family because it is so sweet.

Cbeebies Playtime (By Media Applications Technologies Limited)

A fantastic app by Cbeebies, no ads, no in app purchases just 100% fun for babies and toddlers.
At the minute Mia only plays on 1 out of 6 of the games but I know that soon she will be having a lot of fun on the others too. The others are a little too advanced for her and the "make a picture" game doesn't seem to engage her interest. The game she loves to play the most is "Something Special Paint Pop" It is super easy for her to use and she loves to see the finished product.

I'd also like to add that whilst writing this I checked on the other games and the Tree Fu Tom Chuckleberry Chase is actually quite fun for myself. So there you have it this app can even be fun for Baby & Mum!

Colour Drops (By Kid Baby Toddler LTD)

My daughter has started to love drawing all of a sudden to the point she demands "DRAW,DRAW, MAMA!" so while this app is not as fun for her as crayons and paper she does enjoy using it now and again and invites me to join in too! There is quite a few in app purchases on this one but she doesn't often click them and I've had no need to buy them. The free version has been fine for us.

Has your Baby/Toddler played on any of these?
What are your childs favourite apps?

Since becoming a Mum I have learnt..

Since becoming a mum I have learnt many things. In fact I have become a whole new person. I am no longer number 1 priority, my daughter is and rightly so!

I have found motherhood to be the most life changing event of all. So I wanted to compile a list of a few things I have learnt along the way!

Number 1

Sleep is the new rock and roll! Seriously, anytime of the day if you have nothing that NEEDS to be done and your baby is napping. Put those feet up and take a nap yourself.
You will feel much more energetic and ready to play when they wake up! Plus you deserve it.

Number 2

It is OK to be seen in public without your hair & make up done. Some days there just isn't the time. It isn't the easiest job in the world getting two people ready ya know, then add possible crying/tantrums into the equation.
BB (before baby) I took my jolly old time getting ready and would not be seen dead without my make up on outside. But I've found motherhood let's you find an inner peace. I'm now happy enough in myself not to care of the publics opinion (for the most part). I do still love make up though which is why I take my time out of a night and do my beauty posts for Times2Style ;-)

Number 3

That baby reigns aren't as evil as they look. Yes, I'll admit that post baby I thought 'why would you put reigns on your baby, like a dog lead?!'
I had no idea what the problem with just holding the babies hand was… naive much?! Obviously now I see the dangers everywhere and I'm currently on the look out for some cool backpack reigns for Mia!
She is little Miss Independent and totally too cool to hold her mummy's hand walking down the road :-|

Number 4

My house is never going to be organized and mess free. I wish!

Number 5

Bodily functions no longer make me say ew! I'm immune.
In fact nowadays I am proud when I check my daughters nappy and she has done a good one, because it tells me that I am doing a good job, she is fed well and functioning fine.

Number 6

I am brave, I can be stronger than I thought. For my daughter anything is possible! A spider on the wall? Well I better not let it get her.. Grab a glass and throw it out. I know it seems so trivial but BB I was petrified and would scream and run if I saw one. I like this change a lot and it applies on a bigger scale than the spider example above!

Number 7

Life is beautiful, wonderful, amazing but also now scarier than ever when it comes to worrying about your child.

Number 8

The moment when you and your baby just stare into each others eyes, enveloping your love for each other. Cherishing the moment fully is possibly the best feeling in the world!

I hope you enjoyed this post, these aren't the only things I have learnt since becoming a Mum. But they are what springs to mind most.

Please leave a comment if you related with any of the above and I'd love to read any additions.
